FAQ
About Marrow Liquid Collagen
What exactly is it?
A daily liquid supplement for adult and senior dogs. It combines hydrolyzed bovine collagen peptides (Types I, II & III) — the structural building blocks of cartilage, skin, and coat — with hyaluronic acid, a natural component of joint fluid. It's flavor-neutral: you add it to the food your dog already eats.
Why a liquid instead of chews?
Because the most common failure in this category isn't the ingredient list — it's the delivery. Picky and senior dogs spit chews out, eat around them, or swallow them whole and barely digest them. A supplement only works if it's actually taken, every day. A flavor-neutral liquid on top of food removes the negotiation entirely.
Why collagen instead of glucosamine?
In 2022, a peer-reviewed meta-analysis of joint nutraceuticals for dogs and cats (Barbeau-Grégoire et al.) reported a "marked non-effect" of glucosamine–chondroitin and concluded it should no longer be relied on for joint pain management. Collagen takes a different approach: it supplies the actual structural protein joints, skin, and coat are made of, and early canine research on collagen peptides — including a 2024 placebo-controlled study — is encouraging. We'll be straight with you: that evidence base is young and still growing. Some veterinarians still see a role for glucosamine; always feel free to ask yours.
What's the collagen source? My dog has allergies.
Single-source bovine collagen from pasture-raised, grass-fed cattle. No chicken, no eggshell membrane, no fish — some of the most common hidden allergy triggers in joint products. No wheat, corn, or soy either.
Where is it made, and how do I know what's actually in the bottle?
Marrow is made in a US, GMP-certified facility. Every production lot is third-party tested for purity and potency, and we publish the Certificate of Analysis so you can check our homework rather than take our word for it.
Results & expectations
How long before I notice anything?
Weeks, not days — anyone promising faster is selling a story. Most owners who notice changes see coat and skin respond first (around weeks 3–4), with movement habits — less hesitation at stairs, longer walks, more play — typically shifting around weeks 4–8. Daily consistency matters more than anything else.
Will it fix my dog's limp or arthritis?
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. Marrow is a supplement: it supplies nutritional raw material that supports joint, skin, and coat health. It is not a painkiller or a medication, and it doesn't diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If your dog is limping, in visible pain, or declining quickly, see your veterinarian first. Marrow can sit alongside good veterinary care; it should never replace it.
Other liquid collagens advertise "90% absorption." Why don't you?
Because we can't substantiate that number, and neither can they — there's no peer-reviewed head-to-head source behind it. What's fair to say: hydrolyzed collagen is pre-broken into small peptides for easier uptake by an older digestive system, and a daily serving your dog actually eats beats any chew he refuses. We'd rather earn your trust with what we can prove.
Safety & feeding
Is it safe alongside my dog's medications?
Marrow uses food-based ingredients and adds no NSAID-style load on the liver or kidneys. Still, if your dog takes medication — especially blood thinners or anti-inflammatories — or has a diagnosed condition, check with your veterinarian before starting any supplement.
My dog is extremely picky. What if she notices it?
The liquid is flavor-neutral and disappears into meals; the overwhelming majority of dogs never notice it. If yours is the rare exception and refuses food with Marrow in it, contact us — that's exactly what the 30-day guarantee is for.
How do I dose it?
Once a day, on top of any meal, using the weight-based chart on the label. One bottle is about a one-month supply for most dogs. The one rule that matters: every day, without skipping — collagen works by steady supply.
Is it for all ages and sizes?
Marrow is formulated for adult and senior dogs of all sizes, dosed by weight. For puppies, or for dogs with special medical needs, ask your veterinarian first.
